Default Water and beach area... help

Ok so I wanted to make a water area in my tank like this:

Click the image to open in full size.

I tried an additive but its not holding up under water. Is there another way I can have sand attached to the great stuff? The link I have been following is here: http://www.dendroboard.com/phpBB2/viewt ... highlight=

Try mixing it with epoxy resin, that should do the trick.

Since you live in Canada, what products do you recommend and where can I purchase them?

You want to look for a clear Marine resin I know here in the states I use the west system 105 epoxy with the 206 slow hardener. Look to see if you can orderit on line at http://www.westsystem.com

I use it on my foam rock back rounds!! And it is awsome!

Good luck

How do you go about mixing the sand? What ratio do you recommend?

You would mix the sand until you get the look you want. You could also just lay a layer of epoxy down and then cover it with sand. If you do some searching via Google or some other search engine there are much more affordable options for marine epoxy than West Coast systems.

Dave I picked up the West Systems Epoxy from Lee Valley. Enough to cover 130 square feet at 3mm thick enough for SEVERAL vivariums I say.

I would use gravel over sand if I were you. Just a suggestion...

You can use a leca base then gravel in the water area then a standard soil mix over that.
