Fogging does not do the same thing as misting. It simply cannot supply the amount of water needed.
I've made my own system, bigger and at least as good as Mist King's, less than 100 bucks. It's black, adjustable, all that good stuff. The big difference is I get the pump from eBay as opposed to a store and I don't use Tefen nozzles. Those two things drop the cost dramatically. Here's the thread where I tell you how to do it: Link If you're not interested in going the DIY route I can do a 4 adjustable nozzle system for less than 100 bucks.

What would be a good psi rating for a pump?

Above the minimum pressure for the misting head, and below the max pressure for the fittings/misting head. Ambiguious answer, but that's the reality of it. Most people run pumps that are between 45 and 60 psi, some upwards to 120. It all depends on how large of a system you're trying to make.

I disagree...
My 37 gallon phelsuma tank (which is 2/3 screen covered), is plumbed to an ultrasonic humidifier.
I get more than enough water from the fogger, in fact, if I want the whole tank saturated, all I have to do is leave it run for 10 minutes or so.
The moisture from the humidifier saturates everything, even in the screen covered section, under the leaves, everything!
It could easily top off the water in broms, if I had them in there.
I have experience with misting sytems, and I would have to guess I would need 5+ head to get everything as wet in the same tank.
Some say the moisture from the humidifier won't remove the crap from the leaves, well, neither will the mist system, if it is a true "mist" system.
Just my $0.02!

Ok, I'll revise my statement. For the durations people typically run their watering systems (.5-5 minutes), fogging does not move as much water as misting. Of course if you run your fogger for long periods of time and a misting system for just a minute or few, the fogger is going to move more water. But on a per unit of time basis, fogging moves much less water than misting.

It sounds like both methods have their own plus and negatives.
I also read in a post somewhere that foggers don't wash poo off the leaves like a mister would. This seems like the biggest difference but then again, I'm in the same boat eyeviper and just doing my research.

Like I mentioned, it wont, or maybee it will and my frogs just lay super tough and sticky feces!
Really, in order for feces to get washed off, it needs to be a jet stream or damn near.
I like them both...I like the fogger cause it looks cool, is super quiet, and if you wanted to tinker a bit, you could use it to circulate the air and keep the viv a little cooler. What I don't like it the fact that it requires larger hoses to get the fog into the tank.
The misting system gets the job done quicker (as Mike mentioned), and uses much smaller hoses (neater installation), and unlike the fogger, the misting system can run a whole room of tanks...I have tanks on both sides of my living room hooked up to 1 misting system.
The drawbacks (IMO) is that if the hoses rest against something that resonates, it can be loud as hell, though if you put some effort into it, you can eliminate that problem. Another thing is on many tanks (i.e. vert tens) 1 minute on a misting sytem is almost too long...and timers that will do seconds aren't cheap...(I thought someone was working on making an affordable one though, nudge, wink!).
