Default Random act of fishing

So, I thought this was kind of thread worthy. My buddy was bass fishing at night when he caught something unexpected and he said it was ok for me to share. A few disclaimers though before I get on to the pictures. He only fishes catch-and-release, and this guy swam off fine after he VERY CAREFULLY took the hook out. OK, now that that is out of the way, on to what he caught.

He was fishing with a top-water lure at a local spot when he snagged this guy. I think it is kind of cool to see it even though it almost swallowed the hook. He did manage to get the hook out with minimal damage and promptly let it go after snapping these 3 pics.

I don't know if it was hungry or horny, but it is amazing what bullfrogs will eat. I had a 3" one eat a 5" rough skinned newt that was sharing its tank. A bullfrog I dissected in anatomy class had two smaller bullfrogs in its stomach. They eat whatever fits in their mouth.

That is crazy. That top-water lure is a good 4" long too. That sucker was huge.

One tried to eat my 1.5" red and white bobber a few years ago. He was persistent too, didn't give up trying to swallow it until I moved.

LOL! They are nasty, I have an American Bullfrog that I raised from a tadpole and he will try to bite me if I stick my hands in his cage. Does his mating calls at the same time every night as well!

My buddy was actually going to keep it and give it to me. I told him I didn't have anywhere to put it. Lol. I didn't want that monster.

Lol! During the American Toad mating season, you can get a male to grab onto your fingers if you stick two of them out. Those little guys are so strong, look at their arms in comparison to the females... Straight buff!
