Default vent tads

hi all,

i finally found an old pic i took with a friends cam of some of my first vent tads/eggs. I dont know if this was my first or second offical clutch but it was so much fun after so much time waiting to have my vents breed. They took forever to morph out. enjoy.

How many months do yours typically take to morph out?

Default vent tads

hi dane,

i know it was getting close to 3 months when i gave up hope that they were gonna morph and it was later than that when the first legs popped out. I really didnt keep track of things as much when i had the vents. they began to breed so regularly and at that point keeping track of things (logging things or what not) was not of importance to me. and when you find a clutch per week per female its more work than needed to log every detail. I dont keep vents now but the memories are good.

2 weeks for the eggs to hatch, for the tadpole to get out of the egg ... then 10 weeks until this picture.
i read and was told that the speed at which a tapole grows is highly dependant on the temperature in the room! is this true? ... i honestly don't know ...

Default vent tads

yeah I've heard alot since i had my first clutch. It was before I joined this board and a whole new world of knowlege opened up. maybe someone else can fill the details. most of which i have heard is tad food that influences things. I was wild and had live algea (two types) and everything, nothing changed anything, but supposedly tad bites have an affect on things?

I have not raised vent tadpoles but I have raised my share of tinc, auratus, galac and azureus tadpoles. Many things will affect growth rate including temp, food, water quality, container size etc. I have found that container size will have the greatest effect on growth, the larger the countainer the larger and quicker the tads will grow.
