This has been my point/soapbox many times in the past, JP. I don't think hobbyists realize that they are the primary influence on the hobby/system. But this would probably be better discussed in another thread (don't want to hijack Ray's...).

Thanks Ron. JP, I generally would agree with you, however, I "inherited" a trio of females from a local frogger (that have been in the hobby since 06) and would hopefully, eventually, like to find a match, though clearly that match would be based purely on phenotype/import date at this point. Not ideal but its the hand I've got. Otherwise, I clearly prefer frogs with locale/site data as it makes it that much easier to actually manage captive populations by trading sexes, etc.

Hi Ray,

Very cool trio you have there, safeguard them well and I'm sure you'll come across a male at some point. I find spotted Pumilio to be very attractive.

Is there Anyone who imports Pumilio that has location specific data - that is trustworthy?

Yeah, I know someone with a lone male from that import that is considering loaning him to me (I likewise would be open to loaning it to him).

Well, there is always SNDF as far as pumilio imports with site data.

Are you 100% sure of this?

That is what I've been told by Marcus. Beyond that...

I didn't mean to be critical of your frogs, just the whole mentality that the hobby has with getting frogs without site data is annoying. It goes for many species, but seems to be most problematic in pumilio because of their variability (although, I imagine if Mark Pepper wasn't bringing in imitators responsibly, imitators could be as bad).

I would personally be skeptical of SNDF's data.

I started a new thread to discuss these topics here: Site-specific frogs: is it possible?
