Default First Vivarium Semi-Completed! It's a 12x12x18 Exo-Terra

Well, my first vivarium is completed... all except for the plants... I have one brom so far and some kind of mossy plant (someone please ID the plants)... I got them at a pet store in Lancaster, PA...

It has a waterfall down the driftwood into a small pool of water that drains through a tube directly into the false bottom.

Comment and critique, please!

I hate posting pictures of it now, since it isn't near being completely done... But oh well...
P.S. The leaves covering the waterfall tube and up by the top of the driftwood are temporary and are just for decoration and to hide the tube.

More pics will be uploaded as the tank gets more finished.

Nice!

Did you use the Exo Terra background and cover it with silicone/coco bedding or did you use GS foam on the back?

Nah, I used GS through and through. Took out the exo-terra background as soon as I got it... I needed room in the back to house the pump for the waterfall.

Great Stuff Foam... You can get it at lowe's or wal-mart... It's roughly 4 bucks a can and is a great way to make your background.

so all your background is is GS foam? think you could go over the process of what you did to get your background the way it is? loos as if you've stuck things to it like moss and stuff? also with the GS foam after you do it, the tank still needs to air out for 24 hrs right?

Well... I did the entire background by spraying GS foam over the back glass, and I let it cure for 48 hours before cutting it to how I wanted it with a steak knife. I have had some shrinkage of the foam... but after 48 hours that pretty much is done... Then you can trim it to however you want it. After the foam cures, I put brown silicone over the whole background, and applied bed-a-beast or whatever over the silicone... I pushed it into the silicone while it was still wet.

Just check out other posts from people here, they mostly use the same process.

Can anyone ID the mossy stuff in the bottom right? Or is the picture too small?
