Default Updated Viv and Random Shots (Picture Intensive)

I finished my viv and installed it in its permanant resting place. I think it's much safer nowm and I'm much much happier with it.

I think this table pretty much proves that I have too much free time during the summer, despite my 50+ hour work week.

Nice start

as far as plants....

Id actually replace a few of those

First the Golden Pothos.... tooo big and bulky wen growing in ... itll block light from other plants so Id replace it with a small creeper. Like Silver Pothos , Cissus amazonica, Creeping Fig, or even a creeping Peperomia

Also that big bromeliad on the left bottom,,,, thats gonna be too big once it flushes out and pups. Id replace it with something else... not another brom tho,, honestly bromeliads do not do well planted in the substrate of vivs.... Maybe... yeah, Begonia ' Marmaduke'!!!!!!!!!!! yes indeed, .... if yur interested in adding that one let me know Ill give you some details on how to get it to thrive for ya or any Begonia LOL

as far as the background,
Neoregelia 'Sarahhead' , Neoregelia pauciflora , these are 2 terrific bromeliads, Id put 2-3 of each on the background,,, keeping the same types close to each other to form a cluster

Id also add some peps and other epiphytes to the background, Dischidia, Micro ferns , and other creepers that escape me at the moment...

Hope this helps ya !

Thanks. The brom actually is elevated above the substrate, but I guess it does have to go. The pothos is in an elevated pot, if that helps with suggestions for replacement.

Cresties love pothos - mine like to hang out on its big leaves and watch me sleep at night. Watch it and be ready to trim if it starts blocking light, but Id leave it in. You can then just stick the cut part in the substrate and itll take off for you.

Yeah Zack=hs right on that.... its more my personal opinion on the pothos,,, just some nicer stuff thatit can be substituted with honestly

Silver pothos would be a great replacent. it doesnt get near as big but still is a thick broadleafed plant for the cresties to enjoy

I was considering purchasing the creeping plants package from cloud epiphytes, but I want him to get back to me on what he thinks would be good for the different areas in the tank. I like the broms clusters too, i just couldnt find the ones you recommended on anyones site.
