Default Some new Vivarium photos

Hi all,

Just thought I would share my newest vivarium creation. It is 4 18gal talls. The canopy flips up over the 2 left and 2 right vivs. The vivs have false bottoms and are drilled with rear drains. There is a misting system from Wetworks that runs the 8 misters. Lighting, misters, and fans are on timers. Although you can't tell from this picture I was going for a fallen log look, there is a section of wood that runs across the middle of all the vivs and gives lots of nooks and crannies along with the illusion that this is one big vivarium.

Left two vivs house an Almirante trio and a Red Galac Trio. There is only one water feature in the Almirante viv and they seem to love it - it came out really nice but of course is impossible to photograph.

Right two vivs house an orange galac pair and a yellow galac pair.

The fans blow out away from the vivs towards the back, with a larger fan blowing crossways across the back.

My happy Almirante female sitting in a hole in the wood!

Let me know what you think -

They look great. Can you take some photos from directly in front of it? I'd like to see it square on from left to right.

WOW, great idea of one viv running into the next viv!

I'm with Antone, give us some more pics! One of each viv straight on looking.

GREAT JOB!

Dave,
Nice job! I was wondering when you were going to post these. I like the wood around each tank, nice touch. Hope you were able to work out all the heat issues.

a few more pics...I can't fit the entire set up in one picture because it is in a small room, but here are some individual pics of the tanks with my usual poor photo quality.

This one has the red galac's - I color coordinated a little so you will see some red and pink plants in here with these guys. The pillow moss has settled down and is starting to color back in nicely.

This is the viv with the yellow galac's - again yellow plants for the most part. I have sphagnum moss in here that is almost entirely back to green now.

And the viv with the orange galac's, the plant in the back right corner really washed out in the pic, as do the frogs when I try and get pictures of them. The frogs love sitting on that plant though, probably just due to the big sturdy leaves.

It's hard to see in the pictures but that peice of wood runs through the middle of each viv and gives the fallen log impression. What's really neat is all of the little caves, nooks, and crannies that it creates. The frogs are very active and spend lots of time exploring.
