Default How do you display your display tanks?

When I first found out about this hobby, I remember going back tiem and time again to Brent Brock's site (http://www.bbrock.frognet.org/). I really like how he managed to integrate his vivs into the furniture and whatnot of the room and make really nice displays (the cylindrical vent viv is still one of my all-time favorite displays).

We live in a 1930's bungalow-style house with a chimney that cannot be used (until we decide to get it resealed--over the years, ivy ate through the siding and brick). So, to fill the void of the fireplace, I decided to put a 20 gal viv in there. Any time people come over, they always end up staring at it:

I thought it would be interesting to see how others have displayed their display tanks (not so much utilitarian ways like dedicated frog rooms) throughout their homes or offices. Let's see 'em!

That is a striking display!

Mine isn't nearly as stunning as yours, but since mine needed to be in the living room I tried to make it tie in and look presentable:

A little early evening sun shines through the door transom and reaches the tank during the summer months. The frogs like it:

Now that they're breeding, however, I'm not keeping the walls nearly as clean--still, with the plants more grown in and plenty of misting, it looks ok for the living room.

Why, thank you! It's actually a homemade job, a bit unorthodox but I like the result. I have a little info here about it if you're interested:

you built the enclosure itself, or whats in it? I thought it was a eclosure you bought then designed the inside. I dont think i am ready to try my hand at buiding an entire enclosure from scratch.

I love the viv in the fireplace. I have a planted freshwater tank in a unique place.

I am in the process of setting up a 75 hex viv, which was where the tank above is. It will be up in the balcony that you slightly see in the photo, left column, 2nd row. I may keep frogs in it and during the summer move it into our bedroom which will be air conditioned soon.
