No, I had to Google to see what you were talking about. Quite frankly, I'm not sure if I could handle anymore GRRM characters at this point in time. There are more than enough in the novels, and more introduced in each book. After awhile I get weary of learning the background and geneaology of dozens of random "sers", peasants, septas, priests...and on,and on,and on. I was incredibly disappointed with Dance, and I've been griping about it with a friend of mine all week long, so I'm a bit negative at the moment. Maybe I'll check those out after the new season on HBO, might restore a little faith in me! JVK

they're pretty short (under a 150 pages each), and much, much, better than the last two books

PS they're easy to track down online, as well

There's a legitimate reason why books 4 and 5 were split, it has nothing to do with milking his fans for extra cash. That's a George Lucas thing.

It coincides with why it took him so damn long to finish book 5. Originally there was going to be a 5 year gap between book 3 and 4, but he eventually scrapped the idea after writing a considerable amount. Then he went back and started over, but had extreme difficulties tying the timelines of characters together in Mereen (which he referred to as the Mereneese knot). As a result, he eventually placed all of the characters that weren't involved in said knot into book 4, and released it early to appease us (and his publishers, no doubt).

Apparently his solution was to have Dany sit in Mereen for forever doing absolutely nothing and making us incredibly angry at her stupidity/naivety. But then again, she's still just a teenager. It fits with her character.

Hopefully the Winds of Winter will come a hell of a lot faster. He already had like 8 or 9 chapters finished for it by the time ADWD was released just because he had to push them to the next book as ADWD was too huge to print.

you're welcome in advance
I saw a preview for this awhile back, dismissed it, and promptly forgot it existed. I was looking for something to watch last night, remembered your post, and checked it out... So glad I did. I laughed my tail off the entire time, thanks for the recommendation!

How do you know so much about the GRRM books? I'm head over heels in nerd-love with that entire series.

it's also likely that Luke Skywalker had an awkward experience losing his virginity and that Indiana Jones will eventually end up a befuddled old man. But that doesn't mean I want to read about either, or that they are stories that needs to be told.

His editor needs to put down the pimp hand

Obsessions, lol. I followed his blog and was on an aSoIaF forum for a while 6 years is a long time to wait for a book.

Yeah exactly. I wasn't fond of her "teen romance novel" chapters. But I reckon they fit in with her character. I just don't really care about the thoughts of a teenage girl. She's always been by far my least favorite character. At least Jon redeemed himself in the last book in my eyes. I'm really looking forward to season 2 of Game of Thrones.

We already know that side of Indy (remembers Indy IV, :shudder: )

lol, exactly. But the level of suck in that movie went well beyond that

PS I wasn't the biggest fan of crows, and always felt that much of the material from it could have been left out, but I struggled through the first 500 pages of dragons, and it reached a point where it felt like a choir reading. And though the Dany stuff was beyond bad, the early Tyrion chapters were the worst for me. Probably because he and Arya were my two favorite characters

I really wanna watch Game of Thrones.

I recently started watching Twin Peaks... I'd never heard about it until I hit up my local library. It's pretty interesting.

Spartacus on Starz is awesome. Dexter on Showtime is awesome.

Two movies I've seen recently that I hadn't really heard of were We Need To Talk About Kevin, and Our Idiot Brother. Both were odd, definitely not mainstream, but I loved both of them.

Is anyone else pissed that Camelot on Starz was cancelled?
