Ok I see a boo boo I could not edit. The two together are alpines not nubians.. Whoops.
MArk - That is phillip - He is a hereford/ angus steer calf. Well just became a steer. He just got banded last week. he stay at the farm will only be about a year and then he will be butchered as well. But in the mean time, he is grained daily, brushed daily and treated like a overgrown pet. Awesome little guy who comes running when he sees his grain bowl or you smack the empty bowl on the fence.
I do not make my own cheese yet. I hope to be able to make cheese, butter and soap. My does are all first freshers ( first time kidding) so I have not been able to milk any yet.
Manuran - Thank you for flipping the pic for me.
technically you can eat them. Well the boers are meat goats. The rest are daily goats. All are edible. The kids will be sold off as 4h wethers, does will likely stay here and the rest will be raised up and used as meat goats. My original herd will stay here though. Well as long as the kiddings go well and they are good milkers.
Deb - Now I have to go look up lakenvelders

I have a mix of mixes in the incubator right now for a friend. She said I can keep some that hatch.. darn it I do not need any more chickens.
The only one that smells is the buck, so he was the only one that really earned the smelly name. REALLY earned it. But he is coming out of rut so his smellyness is toning down. Good thing he is such a nice goat, the smell was awful. AWFUL
