Default Land Rover Rebuild

I though you all would enjoy a laugh at my new project. About 5 years ago, I purchased a 1967 Series IIA Land Rover. It right hand drive and an absolute beast offroad. I decided to do a ground up resto on the truck and started the teardown process last week. Here is the progress:

The whole thing comes apart with 5 metric wrenches and a flathead screwdriver and parts are readily available, so I'm hoping for a relatively easy project. The bad news is: less money for frawgs ... lol I'm completely out of space for frogs, so covering the garage in rover parts is most likely a good thing!

Joe, hadn't realized you were into off road vehicles. Very cool, I'm just buying a suspension lift for my new (just traded in my 88 cherokee for it) 1997 jeep cherokee and should have it on by mid september. Have to save some cash for a slip yoke eliminator, CV drive shaft, etc. Also probably need to do a rear axle swap to a Dana 44.

I love frame up resto's, i'm at the tail end of a 6 year one with an fj40,
haven't managed to find someone to build me driveshafts! at least no one on the east coast... once this thing gets done i really want to do a defender 90 with a diesel conversion, can't beat 28 mpg in a 4x4!

Man I live too close to the city for all that... I'd be happy to get a 4 wheeler someday. :-)

Looks great Joe. Hopefully it'll be done by the time I come up to visit you-- that should give you 2 or 3 weeks... Anyway, if you want to work on my Nissan to make it run off of biodiesel, that would be a fun new project, eh? I'd prefer used frier oils from fast food restaurants, but we can see what's available. I always thought it would be awesome to go on tour with a band running off of the leftovers of FF restaurants.
