I have seen a lot of squabbling for basking spots with my lygos so a tank that is a little longer than wide will give them more room to spread out. I am in the process of building some vivs for mine and they will be approximately 50 x 40 x 60 cm (mine will be 18 x 16 x 24 inches).
What forum did you post your questions on? Did you try geckosunlimited.com?
btw L. kimhowelli are awesome!! Highly recommend them!

How many lygo's do you have?
I like the idea of a 50x40x50 better than the 60x40x50 I think. I have some 50er cubes for my frogs currently and it is a nice wide size for smaller specie animals.
I will probably end up with the kim's in the end as it is easier to find them here than it is the william's, not to mention they are more affordable currently as more people are captive breeding them.
Tried gecko's unlimited, unfortunately got no answers. :/
