Default ?? US mantid suppliers

I am looking around for mantids. Does anybody know of any US suppliers? I had a look around mantiskingdom.com, but it looks like maybe they have closed shop.

I ran into a couple of references stating that sales of praying mantis, aside from the ones used in agriculture for bio-control, are illegal here. Is this right?

I found these on a google search. I think there are a couple members here who work with some mantis too.

Thanks. It looks like they have all kinds of stuff in stock. I don't know how my searches failed to turn that one up.

I should look around here some more too. I would like to get in touch with any dendroboard members who might keep mantids.

I've kept several species including Hymenopus coronatus in the past.

I've had a few in the past and usually hatch out any ooths I come across while herping. I've got a few of my offspring from a few months ago still hanging around the front porch.

I bought 3 of the egg casings this year so the kids could hatch them out and let them go in the flower beds(native ones). We still find them every now and again.

What do you all think about keeping them in an enclosure with water? I am specifically interested in mantids as an animal that might perhaps do well in a planted riparium. Since many of them are mostly arboreal, maybe they will do all right in a tank without any real land area(?). Riparium displays have lots of foliage for a light-weight animal to crawl around on. I have considered anoles and tree frogs, but most of those are too heavy and would knock the plants down. Even mantids would have to be smaller varieties, and the tank would need a tight-fitting cover.
