New website updates....

So I've been ever so slowly working on my website and related projects. Right now the goal is mainly just to showcase my various projects and to provide a source of terrarium related info. Today I posted a few of the articles I've recently written and they can be downloaded off the site. I hope that some of my tips and tricks I've learned over the years can help budding hobbiest build their dream terrariums.

I'm still working out the pictures and hopefully will be replacing alot of the background pics shortly, but for now they will work. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions please drop me a line. Thanks!

Very nice site Josh. Great for people starting out and wanting to learn but getting overwhelmed by the forum type sites. I know when I first started I was looking for good sites to read and learn before coming here where the serious learning began.

Looking good, but I would save out the images as jpgs, not gifs, as you can see the limited color palette.

rjmarchisi ~ Thanks for the tip, we will be replacing alot of the pics soon anyway, so we'll try to use jpgs instead. Maybe that will help get rid of the grainy look... When taking pics with the digital camara; is there anything you can do to better prepare the pics for the web? Like bigger size, etc?

The problem with most pics of vivs is that there isnt enough light for the camera to not produce grainy images. Is there any way you can get additional light while taking the pics ( flashes on non professional cameras usually ruin the shot ).

Gif's only have 256 colors whereas jpgs have millions and that will get rid of the banding.
