Simple pleasures

Happy New Year!

Feel free to add to the list; this is a small list of things that I really enjoy:

- freshly roasted coffee (by me!)
- the smell (and taste!) of sourdough bread just out of the oven
- early morning runs with the dogs
- Saturday afternoon naps (especially when a rain is falling)
- discovering a new wine/beer
- the satisfaction of making something completely from scratch and calling it your own.

sitting in my fishing boat getting away from everything whether i slay the fish or not..

oh i forgot riding my bike at skateparks and snowboarding.. Those three pleasures fill my year.. Along with ice fishing through the winter..

A drive up the coast listening to this American Life or Wait Wait Don't Tell Me.
The sound of Wood Peakers, both the hammering and their call.
The smell right after it rains. "petrichor"
Being surrounded by plants.

I missed him last time he was here. I also missed David Sedaris when I was in Costa Rica, but my girlfriend and my best friend Jordan went together.

I will be seeing Sarah Vowell though! We are kindred spirits Jason!

half the time i make something from scratch for someone else.................


- riding bikes(bmx)
- building (minitrucks)airbags\hydraulics
- designing t-shirts(for my company)

Sitting around a campfire on a cold night in the middle of the woods.

staring contests with the terribilis (those fellas win every time)
listening to my iPod
sitting on the beach with the warmth of the sun on my skin and wind on my face (I miss my hometown)
reading the forum with the cat on my lap purring
watchin tv with the dogs head in my lap
