Default Specific species info?

Ok, so I was pondering wether I should get dendrobates lamasi, or dendrobates auratus, then it hit me like a brick  Why not have a species info link thing here where theres all the info people can get on specific species, to see which one specific people like. For instance, have pictures of only that pdf and its enclosure, and other info, and a little thing where people say what they want to say about that species. ( not forumlike ) yea, it will be allot of hard work, and allot of time, but it will be really cool, I know some of you will say thats what forums are for, but im talking specific species. well, just a thought. Merry christmas/honica/other to all!

No offense but you will not be able to get standard lamasi, or lehmanii. Lists for standard lamasi are 2 years long, but most people cant find one to get on. But you can probably get panguana lamasi for $125 a piece. However lamasi are hard frogs to breed, so they are not a good choice for someone who wants to have frogs breeding. All the pumilio are hard to find, but not imposibble. The tincs, azureus, and auratus lay lots of eggs and are "cheap" but they are too large to lay in film canisters. If you want thumbnails I suggest you start out with vents, as they are "cheap" and hardy.

I was just about to say that lol. Also, what species of dendrobates do you keep? The difference of skill and experience required between an auratus and a lamasi are monumental. Also, so is the difference in price  (25 for a g&b auratus vs. 125-150 for a lamasi).

I know about not getting lamasi cause there $500 at least, and hard to keep. So far I keep Cobalt tincs in a 50 gallon medium planted terrarium with gravel bottom (mistake) and I have 2 bromeliads in there. Any way, which pumilio / imitator subspecies will breed the most in film canisters. I want for them to lay eggs in a container so I can move the containers out so the frog tadpoles will have more room to move in when I put them in a bigger container. And so I dont have to chace tads around in pools of water. And, if I keep them in the pools, they will be pulled underground by the underwater filter, which will be hidden... or I wont have a filter... but then if they lay in the pools, the eggs won't be fertile, so thats why I want ones that breed in little film canisters, and that are at reasonable prices. I only get $100 dollars for christmas because I got a new computer and I spent 2/3 of my money on it. :-(

Well any of them can and sometimes will lay in film canisters-- that is except for the ones you made up. As far as the most eggs (I think that's what you meant), it would be a toss up between D. auratus and D. pumilio. If you mean which will produce the most viable eggs, that is the ones which more of the eggs will survive to frogs, then it's D. auratus. As far as having them deposited and raised solely in the film canisters, it depends on the parental insticts of the frogs-- I wouldn't say any of them would necessarily turn down a small body of water.
If I may suggest (this is coming from someone who started in frogs much younger than you are now), people will take you and your questions a lot more seriously if you just double check your spelling of specific names, and even some grammar, before posting some of it. Just some friendly advice.

Why is the gravel bottom a mistake?
