Default goliath frogs on auction site?

http://www.reptileauctions.com/Golia...auctiondetails

I didn't think these were being bred in captivity yet. This has to be super illegal.

I'm almost positive these guys were being listed on Kingsnake (by reputable people) last year. So, it is possible...

I have my doubts. I strongly believe these to be C. alleni, the "slippery frog." Or, the lesser goliath frog. Still very cool and large frogs though. They get up to seven inches long and I hear they do pretty well in captivity:

It might be that you end up with some american bullfrogs if you order those  I donīt think any reasonable person would try to purchase those from that add, because itīs very suspicious and smells like bs, after all, all that the seller is saying is that they are "goliath frogs" without scientific names and from that they can be any large frog  And infact if they are C.alleni, I would say the vendor is trying to make some easy money from ignorant people because they are wayy overpriced.

BTW in that link their IUCN status was considered Vulnerable (probably just out-of-date info), but they are listed endangered nowadays.

"smells like bs" lol

6-8" sounds awful small for C. goliath. That is the typical size for C. alleni.

Why would anybody want a goliath frog? I heard they do poorly in captivity. If you wanted to keep one, make sure you get several for a greenhouse pond because I hate to see anymore taken from the wild.
