Default Anyone shipping at this time of year?

Just wondering if all frog selling/trading has grounded to a halt as far as shipping is concerned due to high temps. Where I am, the temps have been 105-107.

I agreed to set my son's classroom up with a tank at the end of last year. I have the tank, I just need frogs, and I am almost decided to stop waiting for cooler weather and just try to see what the pet stores have. They really want darts, though, so I don't know what to do.

I just shipped two frogs to NC. I did have to keep a close eye on the weather and find a night that was in the 70s. I don't drop the package off until 4pm and it is guaranteed by 10am the next day. So, the daytime temps really did not matter. I just checked the hour by hour forecast on weatherunderground.com for the overnight. I shipped a small insulated box inside a larger insulated box with two ice packs in between them. Everything went well and frogs arrived just fine.

My ups at the airport is open till 10pm. I can ship anytime and drop them off at 10 and they are on a plane by 11:30. As long as it`s not above 80 and sunny(by 10 am) at the destination they should do fine.
I do use cool packs when they go anywhere warm though.

I live in the middle of nowhere, and next day shipping doesn't happen here. It always takes 2 days, and even at night it is only getting down to 80s. High 80s. So it is dangerous to try to ship frogs to me at the moment.

No matter what time of year, if I were you, (and wanted some frogs shipped) I'd make the trek to pick them up at a "hold at" facility near an air hub.
I live almost two hours from the msp air hub...Fedex will only guarantee packages by 4:30 pm if I want them sent to my door...therefore, if I order frogs, I get ready for a trip to the big city...fair weather or not.

I would bet if you were willing to do that, you could get some frogs shipped.

Yeah, thats a good idea. It keeps them from riding in a truck all day.
