Default Collection Sales??

Is it me or is there more then the usual amount of people selling off thier collections. Do people know something that i don't know?
I guess for people like me that are new to darts these are some excellent opportunities to get some breeders and such at excellent prices, But it is always dissapointing to see people selling off thier collections.

Many people get put into situations where they do not have a choice. Most of the recent ones seem to be due to cross country moves.

Just as people will come to realize the true value of 'paper' (to keep you warm). Well, who'll be able to work around such, to sustain the last few specimins'?
The people that wanted to help, can't, the people that will, are.

i think most recently are due to moves like kyle said.
also i think some like myself realize 1 day they could buy a car for what they have invested in frogs, so i sold some off. it is usually a great opportunity to get great deals as many want to sell asap.

Default I agree with Kyle...

Most people are forced to sell collections due to moving or other life changing events. The economy isn't helping anyone either.

In the past, collections might have been sold to friends or other hobbyists and never make it onto the public market. But with the popularity and success of dendroboard, liquidating collections has become more visible in the hobby and given many the chance of obtaining pairs at reduced prices.

Just my 2 cents...

For me it has happened a few times. We have had to move for work and to me with three kids moving all my frogs just would not work. It really sucks to get started and going good then have to sell everything and start over. This is gonna be our last move for a long time, told my boss (father in law) that we love it here and not gonna move
So the good deals are out there from us that have to move. The good thing is that now im able to find frogs from others that are doing the same thing i did. I hope that all the others are not getting out of the hobby altogether. I tried that after one move and there is no way to stay away.
