new banner? thoughts?

so its 4:30 in the morning and I stumble to the computer after a long night out on the town...and i go to see some recent posts on the ol' dendroboard.....and.....what is this!?!?! a new banner?~?~?!?!@?!@?!

I was just wondering everyones thoughts about it....

my thoughts are....good text but I like the old one better cause there was more to look at.....but maybe its just like when you get a new pair of glasses or a hair cut, and you end up likeing the new one better...but oh well....thoughts?

I was doin the same. Maybe its been a long night but I think that its too dark. I liked the bright white clean look. Ill get used to it, I love this place.

from an advertising standpoint, i think the banners get lost in the new header.
most people have made dark banners to stand out from the white background.

Though dont like the ad's there maybe they can go uder the the the menu buttons

One of the main goals with the new look was to get the banners out of the middle of the page and get the on every page while on the site. The new look accommodates that so know the banners on on the gallery pages and etc... The goal was to make the best use of the screen space and I believe it has been achieved. Im not sure I see the ads as being lost in the banner at all but yet out in the open. They now integrate into the site.

Thanks for the comments and I think it will wear on everyone as time goes on. I had thoughts of it being too dark at first but now I really like it. I am still working through some minor issue that I need to get back to so thanks again...

couldnt we just make it a little blacker and keep it at 10?

ya but i had the advantage before since the header was white and my ad was black(JOKE)(as with most of the banners). time to give azdr and patricks new sight the eyecatching look. lol oh and mistking. the more i look at it the more i realize there were a lot more white banners lol.
does sound a little childish when i read my first post back.
i think it looks great!!
much more vibrant and not as scientific, sterile, kinda blah looking.

I think the increased ad time on all the pages will help more than any of the colorations. Your ad is clear and still sticks out as the text is larger and its not cluttered.

sorry, i have to stop posting like that till everyone understands my sense of humor. everytime i recieve a response i realize i`m terrible at conveying the important parts of my messages. you`d understand better if you were in front of me.
my fault, that was meant as a joke on me, as if i was stamping around the room like a little boy because i coulnt deal w/ the change. which was an exageration of me seeing the new look before i had my morning coffee and posting something before i had time to take it in and think about it. thats a lot to convey in a short retraction of my earlier statement, but i dont get to talk to many people out here and i dont want to ramble, much like i`m doing now.
sorry, too much for a sunday morning. can you tell ive had my coffee now?
