Glad it made the news, but would it have killed them to post a photo and maybe get some new people interested in the cause? I hear they do really well in captivity, and breed well when healthy. Anyone know how Yeager is making out in Ecuador? Or is he just making out (He did post that photo of himself with 6 Miss Ecuador contestants)
Wondering.

funny. I remember reading an old book with Zeteki's toad in it from the 1970s when they weren't threatened by chytrids back then...how to take care of them.

However, I really, really, wish atelopus varius would receive as much attention. It only exists now I believe in captivity but isn't as huge of a priority as zeteki.

Plus, its about time we take more interest in the corroborree frog and the xenopus gilli/longipes as well as more help for mantellas.

Well, here's a link to the DFP site with a longer article and a pic:

http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti ... /1001/NEWS

Interestingly, not the pic I found in tonight's Kalamazoo Gazette, but by the same photographer. The KG has a story about the financial probs of the Detroit Zoo, with the picture and its caption, which begins: "A Panamanian golden frog is among the frogs in the Atelopery of Amphibiville..." Say that 3 times fast...

Dave,

If I get a chance before I take off to IAD I will send you a picture of what Yeager is up too...

It really should't be posted anywhere...
