Default NBA 05-06 season awards...

I was just talking to a friend about who should be the MVP this year, so I thought it'd be fun to hear what other people think as well. Here are my picks for the 05-06 season awards:

Most Improved Player:
Boris Diaw of the Phoenix Suns

Sixth Man Award:
Mike Miller of the Memphis Grizzlies

Defensive Player of the Year:
Gerald Wallace of the Charlotte Bobocats

MVP:
Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns

I agree on MVP and MIP, but I think 6th man should be Eddie House and Defensive player of the year should be Shawn Marion.

Well... you are in AZ so I can see why you would think that. House has been great off the bench, but he hasn't played as an important role on the Suns as Mike Miller has on the Grizzlies. Mike Miller does more then just score, so that's why I would put him ahead of House but I did consider him. As for Marion being the defensive player of the year, I can't really argue too much with that vote as he is right there with Gerald Wallace in my opinion. Most people don't get to see the Bobcats and Gerald play, so it would be easy to look over him. He is the only player currently (and I believe only the 3rd in NBA history, but I could be wrong on that) to be averaging over 2 steals and 2 blocks a game and he averages around 8 rebounds as well. Plus... Phoenix can't get all the awards lol.

Also, I forgot to mention Rookie of the year, but that is because it is so obvious if you ask me... Chris Paul of the Hornets hands down.
