Could never figure what this is...
I've seen a few breeders set ups and this guys setup (I don't even know who this is, but it's the only thing I remember that shows it) have this substrate. I think it looks really cool, as it is all smooched together and it always appear to be growing moss on it. It doesn't seem very plant friendly, but i'm just curious.
The first thing that comes to my mind is peat moss, but when peat gets wet (at least mine) it's spongy.
