Yes the light does give it a little more purple look to it but it is a very deep blue making it look purple , Ill take another picture with different lighting. I was reading Poison Dart Frogs And it said that azureus is a blue, black and purple frog you should check it out page 9. Then again I guess the color is in the eyes of the beholder
