Hes only 12 weeks or so, so im sure that if he survives, he will be sorta ok. I just hope he can have a normal life where he can fend for himself and i dont have to keep him in a small tank.

Im trying to figure out wether the other male beat him up or not, but its unlikely. They are all very young and they are always together hanging out. Who knows.

I have him now in a small 2 1/2 with some point papertowels, a cork piece and a small small bowl. Just in case he wants to soak. We will see what happens. He hasnt moved in 30 min since i put him in the small tank.

Are any of the other 3 males? They can be quite territorial so that could have been a major fall that it had while wrestling.Good luck, I hope he recovers.

Froglet,

I doubt that a froglet could damage another. Did you try to catch mama out of the brom axils or anything that could have smashed her???? As for them submerging themselves, it is a defense tactic from what I have observed with my vents. Any time I get to close when they are sitting near a brom, they dive into the deepest axil they can find and completely submerge themselves. I wouldn't worry at all about this activity. Just keep a good eye on her leg though. And be careful, they are delicate .

Yeah, I was going to ask if if was possible that you damaged the frog yourself in the fury of trying to pry it from the brom.

NO no no.... i am extremely carefull with these guys. The ony thing i did when i got her out of the axil. ( wel him ), was to turn it upside down and let the water out. He came out on his own to my hand and thats when i noticed the bad leg. I am more carefull with these guys then myself. I know how fragile they are but i also know that one froglet can damage another real bad or even kill it. Not the first time it has happened.

I just wish that he recovers enough to live a normal breeding life. Like i sayd before, i used to have a Tricolor that had no left eye. Her name was Captain Hook and even with no eye she bred more tads than any frog i have ever seen. I hope My poor Imitator can be a father too someday.

Right now i have him in a small tank and lets see what the next few days bring.

Thanks all for your concern, i apreciate it so so much.

I hate to say it guys.....But i think hes about to die. Im not sure if it was the stress of moving him to a smaller tank or what. He seemed alot better in the large tank, and now this morning when i got up and looked in the small tank...Well !!! hes just about dead.

I will say one thing. I dont think it was a fight or a nasty fall. I got a chance to look closely at him and OMG its horrible  . He has his right front let slowwen to about double the size of a regular one. Its also a different grayish color....It seems like a fungal thing, because that gray color seems to travel a bit down to his back leg also. Im not certain of anything right now except that he wont make it past today. I will try to put some pedialite on him and try my best to do what i can, which in this case is not much. Im also monitoring the other guys, if i can find them to see if they are all ok. .

Ill let you guys know when he passes.

That's very unfortunate. The damaged leg could have provided a route for an infection. I suppose you'll need to keep a close eye on his viv mates to make sure there isn't a bigger issue.

I just hate it when a froglet starts to go down hill. I suppose if I could be totally reptilian about it, I would see the positive in sorting out the weak from the strong. But it always make me feel bad to watch a little one fail to thrive and wonder what I might have done wrong and hope that it doesn't suffer too much.

Good luck.

Bill

Its weird.

My BABY BOY is finally dead.........i watched him give his last breath and now he goes to Foggy Heaven. I will burry him in my back yard later today..................

* I am making sure i watch my other babies. This is weird...Ill explain....

I have 4 Frogles..they are all named

1 Zero ( male)
2 Wishbone ( Not sexed )
3 Tiny ( Not Sexed )
4 Mama ( Male ) -----------DEAD

Zero, Wishbone and Mama always hang out together. Always on the right side of the tank, on the same leaf. Tiny is the smallest and is always by himself/herself. I have never seen him/her with Zero/Wishbone/Mama.

Now that Mama is Dead ( even though its not Mama, it Papa ) i just saw Wishbone-Zero and now finally Tiny all on the opposite side of the tank, and all together. I guess now that Mama is gone Zero and Wishbone can love Tiny and much as they loved Mama. Im sure i will miss Mama, but i also have to realized that i have my other babies to worry about, and i still have to look forward to taking care of my Babies........................................
