Default Reversing day and night light cycles?

A few years back when I first got into PDFs, I was reading a book on the captive care of dart frogs and in the book was a section on switching the day and night cycles of lighting in the vivs. I never really thought much of it because my job allowed me to feed my frogs during the day before work and then work on the vivs at night after work. But my job scheduling has changed and now I work from 7am to 8pm six days a week. This has made me start feeding the frogs at night when I get home and by the time I get settled in at home it's usually 9pm before I start feeding them. And then soon after it's lights out time for the frogs. So I was wondering is it ok to reverse the light cycles in my vivs? In essence I would make our daytime their nightime. And make our nights their days. A couple side notes are the room is completely closed off from outside light. So the room could stay completely dark all day long. Also this would help me start feeding them again when they are waking up as opposed to feeding them right before they go to bed. I would like to hear everybodies feedback and ideas on this matter. Also are there any negative effects to controlling the lighting this way? Thanks in advance for any input you have.

James

A few folks do that, it helps balance the temps out a little more, as you don't have the lights on the tanks warming them up in the heat of the day...instead, they are on at night, when it's cooler.
As long as you give them a light/dark cycle, it's fine.

I just started switching the day/night lighting cycles because I live in a hot climate. My frogs seem to be fine, although they still sleep at night (when the lights are on). Maybe after a little while, they will switch to sleeping during the day.
