who names their frogs?

hey guys i was just talking with a few buddies that are into the reptile trade and we were all talking and asking how each others animals were doing.. and the question came up. they asked me. so did you name your frogs? and i realized i never did name them.. i mean all of my leopard geckos are named. thats mostly my kids doing. but the frogs dont game names and in the past i very rarely named any of my herps. so i was wondering how many people really do name their frogs.. or any of their herps for that matter?.. i mean i know some ppl on here have nearly 100 frogs lol. so im sure they dont name them.

I don't give them individual names as that would be nearly impossible like you said to find names for all of them and as well hard to distinguish.
But I give them general names... like my 3 red eye tree frogs are all named jellybeans I dunno just something to laugh about.

I've named most of my herps in the past but I rarely actually called them by their names. I had cresties named Soup, Spoon, Rambo, and Rael, and a ball python named Arlow.... The rest remained nameless. Oh and Dune!! He was my Kenyan Sand Boa. Out of the lot of them he's the one I miss the most. I actually think I may have named a couple more than that but when an animal doesn't respond to it's name you stop calling it by it's name... and then forget it. At least that's how I am .

I name them. It's easy to talk about the frogs with my girlfriend, when everyone knows which frog everyone means. I only have four frogs, so far, so it's doable. I like the "bond" you get, I really can tell them apart by the subtle difference in looks and behavior.

I named all of my frogs when I first started, but then it got to the point that there were so many it was impossible....you'll see. Before you know it you are an addict who needs frog meetings to satisfy your cravings. LOL

lol who are you telling.. years ago i was breeding leopards cresteds and leachies on a major level. then i got my frogs. then i got a motorcycle. then college drained me so i sold off all my animals to friends and family and other breeders i knew would keep them well. but now im back into the trade and i got my trio of vents ( im dieing to find eggs ) i just dont seem to find them breeding or laying.. dont know why. iv tried just about everything. and i have 2 unidentified froglets in another viv. and i want so many more. i just dont want to fill my place with tanks because i know once the vents breed im going to need space for tads and froglets. and due to a very small apartment and a family its hard to have a frog room lol. it was a ruff choice to live at home in a big house and have a herp room to moving with someone i loved and giving up my free space lol. between my cars motorcycles the frogs and herps and video games. i have no space lol.

I didn't even give my cat a name. After about a year and a half this girl finally said, "if your not going to name it, I'm calling it mary jane". Now her name is mary. Without her taking charge it would still be called "the cat".

So the answer for me is no, I do not name my frogs.

ive named everything. since a kid, fish to Mammels, Haha. Since im getting back in i have only 4 "Patricias" kids named them. Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi. We love Naruto. ANd expecting to be purchasing many more. A Dog named Bubble Hash (Bubba for short) and a dumpy called Sir White.

I do, well on some of them at least. My husband really does not want me to have too many frogs, atm I have 19 and out of those 4 are supposed to be sold off in the end once I know their sexes. However he does understand if I am never able to sell those 4.
