Default halloween

Ok so 'tis the season of Halloween. Gargoyles are out and about in the stores and I love them. So tonight I decided to go get some things and ended up stopping at the dollar tree and found some awsome gargolyes. They are made of cememnt WOOHOO!!!! I am in the process of building a tank and then it came to me, put a gargoyle or 2 in the tgank. So here I was in the middle of the dollar tree arguing with myself on if I should or not and a lady walked by me heard me and said "can I help you." HOLY CRAP SHE SCARED THE BAJESUS OUT OF ME. I jumped dropped the gargoyle on my foot, it broke, my foot hurts and AHHHHHHHHHHH. Well now Im in pain, but laughing because Im embarrassed, trying to clean up my broken gargoyle, the worker comes over (who knows my parents very well) shes cracking up because she saw the whole thing, she calls my mom and tells my mom I am in her store breaking things. Now Im 32 years old, there aint no reason to call my mom who is only going to make fun of me for the rest of my life because I got startled and dropped something. I never jump. My dad tried to scare me when I was 10 and I accidently broke his nose, reflex thing. So my mom calls me and starts harrassing me telling me I need to pay for the items I broke. I hang up with her and about 15 mins goes by, I am now on my way home and my brother calls me. AAAUUUGGGHHH, my family SUCKS.

OK, so now that I have been embarrassed I have a question. I have my cement Gargoyles that I just bought. Will they be ok to put into my new tank. I am not sure if I need to do something with them since they are cememnt. I have read about having to spray the rock walls with vinegar, do I need to do the same with cement? Thanks for your help and I hope you got a good laugh on my account.

Marshall

Default Re: halloween

Great story, my family would be the same way
As for the gargoyles, they came from a store (unpackaged?) and therefore are assumed to be dirty (whether or not they are). Rinse them thoroughly several times, then they are really ready to go. Soaking in vinegar causes the cement to stop leaching as much, because cement is alkaline and vinegar is acidic. You don't have to do this, but if they're going to be completely wet all the time it may not be a bad idea.
