Default Female Azureus Mounting Male

Hi,

I have not seen this behavior before: I have a azureus pair that have been breeding for a little over a year. They layed lots of viable clutches for ~9months, and have taken some time off the last few months. The last ~2wks the female is really plump once again - looks gravid to me, but I have not seen any usual mating behavior (petting) or heard the male calling. However, for the last couple of days the female has been mounting the male. She holds on tight (toes going wild) until he manages to get away. Then she is right back at him. He does not seem too thrilled - and is not calling in response.

Any one know what this means? Do females ever get agressive w/ past lovers? They are in the same tank (10g) that they have bred in for the last year.

Thanks,
Keith

Thanks,

That is what I'm hoping for! It has been a few days and no eggs yet. Just want to confirm this is not going to stress out the male as I never saw any of my frogs do this before.
