Banded Intermedius vs ....................

Ok so my brain is hurting as i keep on getting mixed answers from everyone .

Ok so basically i want to know if there is such a thing as a true Banded Interemedius and not just selective pickings of normal inters ? I am told by some that banded inters are just a variation and not a separate population .... ? Some tell me that interemedius can have bands on them but not be true bandeds ? So i would like to know whats going on lol...
