Blowgun, quiver and darts. They were made by the Yagua tribe in amazonian Peru. The Yagua use curare (a plant-based poison), not frog toxins, to poison their darts. But the idea is the same and it makes for a cool prop when explaining pdf's to people.

come to think of it....i think my daughter has a stuffed spider-monkey doll somewhere in her room. maybe i'll grab it when she's not looking, prop it way up high in a tree, and blast it full of darts. hey, if i'm gonna fire the damn thing, i might as well use an appropriate target, right?

And after I'm done doing that, I can go collect my Alec Baldwin "Father of the Year" award.

Hey, that thing is sweet, I remember a while ago when I had a metal blowgun, had the 4 inch long darts, I remember when my mom told me I couldn't use any guns when she wasn't home, but she didn't say anything about the blowgun My brothers and I put about 6 darts into a fool hen before it flew away once. :roll: We figured out why the natives need poison on the ends of the darts.

wow, eye-opening story. :shock: i had no idea that a blowgun would be basically useless without the poison. but now that you mention it, it makes sense. and it makes me appreciate the intelligence/ingenuity of those tribes even more.

Hey, well I still think this is very weird, because for a grouse or duck to go down it only takes one BB. But a grouse can have 5 needles in it and not come down, talking about weird.
