Default Crape Myrtle for viv construction?

is it ok for use in a viv

The label crape myrtle gets applied to a number of plant species, some of which have become popular ornamental yard plants in the US.

The two most common that you are likely to run into are Lagerstroemia indica and Lagerstroemia speciosa. I've always thought of them as having relatively soft wood that I suspect might rot quickly in the viv.
