Default Mixing?

I have read that we probably should not mix species.
This may be a dumb question but, does that mean you should not mix different tincs, or leucs, etc....

Do a little more searching and read a little more. If you are newer to the hobby this board has a lot of information that you should start by searching and reading thoroughly on each topic. This particular topic has been gone over extensively and is best for you to read more by searching. Good Luck!

Ok so I see there really is no right answer for this question.
18 pages of search and read yes its ok and no its not.
I suppose that is why you did not answer my question, just
pointed me to do more research.

There is a right answer but not necessarily mine and it would do an injustice to you just to give an opinion.

The one right answer that everyone agrees is that if you are new(less than 3 or 4 years) this is not to be attempted, but always seems to be one of the first questions a newer hobbyist asks.

So your reading between the lines was correct and that is why I didn't answer. at this point just don't do it.

Be careful about just asking a question and hoping to get a quick answer because a lot of time you will get an opinion. It is better to search, read, and research. This is not an easy hobby like rocket science or brain surgery, its is difficult and deserves your investment of research. Good Luck

i`ve been in the hobby for 10 years and i still don`t. people have had success. i even have problems w/ the turq and brnze and super blues in the same tanks. the super blues always get skinny unless there are only super blues. i used to mix w/out probs but the frogs i sold were a lot smaller then.
now that i`m growing them up bigger i`m realizing that sur cobalts seem to be more aggressive than other tincs and nikitas and citronella seem to be less aggressive and dwarfs grow too slow to be kept in w/ sur coalts. i always seperate my galacts as they will bully all tincs and azureus and always kept leucs seperate and auratus seperate from everyone. all phyllos are pretty aggressive but i found 1 vittatus can grow up w/ a group of auratus. a lot of darts have different personalities and i suspect at higher temps loland species/morphs prevail (w/ the increased metabolic activity of hiland morphs in the same tank). i suspect this may be the problem w/ the super blues and trqnbrnz, that the supers are from higher elevation and the trqnbrnze are loland and that`s why the supers dont do as well. it`s quite complicated when you get into mixing animals. they all prefer to have their own territories. just think of how i`d do stuck in a room w/ a silverback. ok, bad analogy as he wouln`t have a chance but you get the drift.

David,
Thank you, I can appreciate the fact that an answer someone gives is very possibly an opinion. I also used the word "right" incorrectly. It should have been "no single answer". I beleive that opinions are what forums such as this are all about, more than likely are not many actual PDF biologists on here, and that is probably not what they are called anyhow. So the answers to questions are opinions formed from experience with these animals.
What I saw were references to species, not necessarily morphs, I certainly could have skipped over something about that specific subject.
Wish I had not asked such a loaded question, seems that it is a button that gets pushed too much around here. If I had thought about it longer I more than likely would have figured it out before asking.
Not trying to push anyone's buttons here, just typed before thinking.

Alan,
In one of my previous posts I stated that I had done a search and read through most of the threads that came up. That particular thread is interesting, there is still no single answer to the question. One person says ok, another says not ok. So I am going to assume that there is no single answer. I will say that after this I will be very hesitant to mix any different types of PDF.
