Default side by side behavior

Okay here goes... I have a 15 cube with two azureus next to a 15 cube with one Oyopok. All are doing well, they eat all the FFs I put in and all are fairly bold and seem well adjusted to their habitats. I often catch them looking into each other's tanks. The oyopok seems to be growing significantly slower than the azureus and the lorenzos in a 15 cube on the other side. All were about the same age when I acquired them. I've read alot about intimidation between males of the same species and females fighting over males. Has anyone noticed any reactions from side by side frogs?

Does anyone have experience with rate of growth between these species?

Originally I was just thinking its their size... the oyapoks being a dwarf morph wouldn't grow as big as the azurues, so their growth might seem "slower" since they don't have as much of a size increase... but lorenzos are dwarfs too so I'd think they'd have the same rate...

I'm not too familiar with tincs, but maybe the azureus and lorenzos are bigger morphs than the oyopak(sp)? That is really all that I can think of. I had my Azureus and Amazonicus vivs next to eachother and always find the Azureus looking into their viv, but I never had a problem with the Amazonicus eating and what not.

I'll agree with Corey. Its probably b/c of the adult size difference. As an example, I have 2 dogs. One Cane Corso and a Shar Pei. The Corso will be about 140lbs full grown and the Shar Pei will be around 45ish lbs. The Corso gains about 1/3lb a day and the Shar Pei gains a LOT less than that.

One day the Corso Weighed 65 lbs and the Shar about 25. 1 week later, the Corso was 67lbs and the Shar was just barely 25.5lbs.

Maybe that helps?

We've got a blue sip thats about the same size as our two oyapoks (the blue sip is younger). When the oyapoks where picked up in Oct, the sip was smaller... now he's definately larger... has nothing to do with the Oyapoks lagging behind (they are growing nicely) just that the oyapoks are going to be significantly smaller as adults!
