Default Captive Bred (not WC) Mantellas and anthonyi

Hi All!
If you are looking for your first Mantellas, captive-bred is the way to go! These are healthy animals that are easier to breed and more tolerant of mistakes than WC specimens.

We have the following available for sale (pickup or shipping available) Pictures are representative of the species and are not necessarily the animals you will be getting:

Captive Bred Mantella ebenaui (bronze Mantella) sub adults $25 each These are the ultimate starter Mantella because they ar emore tolerant of warm conditions than most species and they are relatively easy to breed and rear.

Not trying to hijack, but I thought I would add some stuff here about Mantella ebenaui to help Rich out and get more people, particularly stewards, interested in ebenaui as their first starter mantella.

They are much more colorful in person, and in my experience, and they do benefit from the addition of naturose to maintain good coloration.

Now, the following pics are NOT Rich's offspring, but some of my bloodline that he has vended for me in the past. That DOES NOT mean the frogs will look exactly like this. But, it DOES exemplify that ebenaui can be very nice looking frogs.

Mantella ebenaui, unlike expectata, retain their blue coloration on their bellies. Expectata tend to dull brown / black in the summer with warmer temps and usually only display their brightest blue in the winter. You can see pictures of ebenaui's belly in the following:

How are they (ebenaui) as far as their personality? Are they shy or bold, skittish or will they stay out as long as there not bother???

I can attest to this as well. I have been supplementing my original trio of ebenaui with naturose for over a year, and they are degrees more red than the group I got in July (which had not been given naturose).

They're not as bold as aurantiaca or crocea, but they're still out a good amount of the time. After I added four more frogs to my trio all the frogs were out much more often, so boldness may be closely related to group size.

Thought that would be the case with mantellas, the more the bolder....

Depending on the species that is true.
