Post Springtails directly into the viv

Ok i got my springs yesterday and i seeded the whole tank i bought 2 and just dumped the whole thing into the tank and mixed it into my substrate. My question is should i feed them? Put some mushrooms in there or some white rice maybe? i cant really see any of them im not sure how long they take to propogate but any help is appreciated!! Thanks!

Yeah throwing some mushrooms or baker's (active) yeast in there will definitely help

No, they prefer to hide underneath the leaf litter.

Leaf litter and mushrooms.... and sooner or later you'll hav an abundance of springs... that's when you add the frogs

Did you throw all u got in there? Its a good idea to save some always in culture to use to seed other tanks, reseed the old tank and use as supplemental feeding for the frogs on occasion.

Always use the "Split a culture" rule....

Never use an entire culture for anything. Always use half....split it......add more medium / media, ect and re-culture it.

Buy a culture of any given feeder insect and make two cultures. Give one to a friend. Save one for later. Use the extra one as a backup in case the other one crashes or gets mites....whatever.

Buy a culture - split a culture - make a extra culture.....
