Springtail life cycle

How long is it? I got both a temp and trop culture the other day. Unfortunately the temperate culture was mostly dead (they weren't 'asleep'). There are enough in there to re-start the culture, but not enough to use. I also split up the tropical culture into two larger cultures. Roughly how long before I have useable cultures?

It depends a lot on how much you feed them... its really easy to start a boom and get a bunch of babies (you'll see them a few days after you give them food) but you need to make sure to consistantly give them food, and increase it a tad as the babies grow. Can take about a month to really have a feedable boom depending on your conditions.
