Methyl paraben

How much methyl paraben should I use per cup of media. I used 1/4tsp and it ground them to a halt. No mold though (LOL). I have some set up now with 1/8tsp but it's too early to tell. Is this still too much?

I use 1 tsp in 8 cups of potato flakes plus the all the other ingredients so say 10 cups total.

Try making 4 with your 1/8 tsp recipe and 4 with no MP and use 20% vinegar/80% water or apple juice and see if you really need the MP.

1/2 a teaspoon per cup of media is what I recommend.

I started some colonies on the 5th and 10th of March using just 1/8tsp and the one from the 5th already has large maggots, I even saw a couple of casings this morning. The colonies with 1/4tsp from the 3rd, 13th and 26th of February still have nothing but tiny maggots, some pupating at extremely stunted sizes. The larger dose apparently stunts, or at least slows, their growth, so I's say 1/8tsp per cup is the best.
