Gallery?!

What the f@#%& happened to the gallery?! I thought this was a poison dart frog forum, not another myspace. Any mod thoughts on the numerous "personal non-dart frog" type material being added to the gallery? It's cool to want to show off your car, pet, girl or whatever, but I'm sure there is another forum somewhere for that too. Sorry if I sound like I'm ranting, but I would like to see some frogs on a Dendroboard. I'm out, no more said :lol:

Ya noticed that did ya? I'm afraid it all traces back to the use, some will say overuse of emoticons in DB forums. Recent nonscientific evidence suggests that users of emoticons achieve a mental state once known only to exist in 12 year old girls and overenthusiastic puppy dogs. Sharing comes naturally to both groups.

On a more serious note, my observation is that most of the non frog related Gallery items tend to have a finite lifetime.

I've always thought it to be in good taste to host non frog stuff elsewhere. I usually use imageshack.us or my own webspace for this. I've also noticed that people's non frog stuff gets deleted in a short time.

Someone else pinged me on this.. I will have to look into it. I also took a look at the rules and the gallery rules maybe a bit lacking...

There is currently no one removing pictures, or any automated process doing so. So the only people would be the user themselves.

I have asked the user to remove them, and if they do not over the next day or so I will remove them.
