So the "Featured Frog" in the top, will that change every now and then?

Yes that is the plan... We will rotate it based on the care sheets every so often.

just my opinion, but I am not as fond of the new page layout because the vendor advertisements look out of place for some reason. The new color scheme seems a little too bold/dark for me.

That's just me though.

I love the new look, great job!

One thing I noticed, the RSS feed button touches the ad banner when browsing the forum, but on the main page, mission, etc, it is centered correctly with the rest of the links. Maybe it is just my computer...

Can I ask what browser you are using? I just tested it with IE, and firefox and it does not move at all.

The problem is probably that beeswaxx either uses a non-default font or has the font size on their browser set "larger." It happens all the time in web design, and theres not much you can do about it.

I like the design. I think the header is really busy with the the banner incorporated. I totally understand the logic behind it. Sponsors might get a bit more exposure on their banners, since they are now visible on other pages, but on the flip side the banner is much easier overlooked now, since it all blends together into a single graphic. Possible to perk up the banners a little bit ? Maybe with a drop shadow??? Let me see if I can illustrate this

here:

Click the image to open in full size.

EDIT: I played with the file a bit and got rid of the "Advertising opportunities to simplify it...People that want to advertise will know to click the "Your ad here", which can be linked to and made a bit less pronounced...

Just a thought

an example of what I'm complaining about is the Herpetologic banner. It looked really nice originally, but all that white along the side of it with a red outline doesn't look very nice with the rest of the webpage IMO. Perhaps stretch it out so you don't see the white?

the drop shadow did make it nicer looking, not so "out of place."

Marty, what would it look like if it had a darkened shadow? Then the banner would really stick out and look more three dimensional.

I do think we should keep some of the old, round pictures of the auratus, pumilio, etc. because I thought it was really nice.

These are just opinions voiced by a representative of "the people" lol.
