Default Vote on this new section - CareSheets or Species Info

A Caresheet or Species Info section. This would be a read only section that people could submit information to get added. This would include things like:

- Difficulty from 1-5 with 5 being the toughest:
- Location
- Temperatures
- breeding habits
- breeding locations
- tank size
- kept in groups or not
- clutch size
- Tadpole care
- Descriptions and pictures....

There would be 1 topic per species and could grow into a list of species with care data.

The information lsit could grow and these are just some things off the top of my head, but would like to make a template and then people could fill out the template and have it submitted to be added or to get one part updated.

Moved this so people could reply...

I really want to hear the reasons why some are opposed to this idea.

I'm all for it. It would be a good reference and a good place to send new people who have a lot of questions.

I would also add overall difficulty. In the top of the section, though, I would make a sticky that among other things said the magic word: GUIDELINE!

Could make the difficulty a poll on a scale from say 1-5 with 5 being the hardest. Would have to think on that as someone may just thing they are easy as well.

I definiteley think it should have some sort of template, a forum full of posts could get messy and make it difficult to find the info you're seeking.

Maybe also add a section describing the different morphs that are available. Is there any way of adding MP3s of calls as well?

Good idea on the calls... I should be able to add them.

Yes it will be based off a template and will be read only. Only mods will be able to update the info.

What do you guys think? Are more sections required? Let me know, but here is what I have so far for a template and an example:

This forum is dedicated to species specific care sheets. Everyone is welcome to submit information based on the template to any of the mods or admins.

Note:
Pictures and information must be your own if not then references must be listed, and quotes must be in quotations. Pictures from other sites may only be linked unless they are your own or you have written permission to use them.

Template:

FROG NAME:
- Difficulty: (from 1-5 with 5 being the toughest)
- Location: (country - city or region)
- History: (when discovered etc..)
- Temperatures: (temperatures in captivity)
- Kept in groups or not: (yes or no or more info if needed)
- Breeding Locations and habits: (where, when etc...)
- Tank Size & Layout: (prefered size not smalles or largest)
- Clutch Size: (averages)
- Tadpole Care: (seperate or together)
- Descriptions and Pictures.... (please keep under 400px x 400px)

EXAMPLE:

Dendrobates Azureus:

Difficulty from 1-5: 1

Location: South Surinam

History:

Temperatures: 65-80

Kept in groups or not: as long as there are not 2 females

Breeding Habits:

Breeding Locations: coco hut or other covered area, petri dish or other smooth surface

Tank Size & Layout: 10gallons per frog

Clutch Size: 4-15

Tadpole Care: separated

Descriptions and Pictures:

Looks good. One more idea: To make it really standardized (read professional-looking), you might make a PDF template that people can just fill out. Just an idea.
