Default Dendrobates

What is the best beginner and larger species of dendrobates? I want a frog that isn't near close to a thumbnail dart frog, but I also want one that is easy to take care of.
Any suggestions?
Thanks so much.
(I don't have any frogs, but I have a nice big vivarium ready to go)

Tincs are fairly large and good beginner frogs. I don't know your preference but all the morphs are beautiful.

I think azureus, patricia, and citronellas are good frogs, but like I said any tinctorius will meet your criteria.

Leucs and Azureus are usually recommended as beginner frogs. I have both and love 'em.

Big, bold, eat well, lots of character.

you are going to get 3 types of replies...
- Leucamelas (don't own this but I hear really great things about it)
- any kind of Tinc (I own citronellas and azureus and I prefer citronellas)
- do a search, this question has been asked a billion times

Thanks so much! I'm thinking about Azeurus and Leucs, but I am looking at Tincs momentarily.

Azureus are a great choice and they are a tinc morph.

Im also slightly biased since my first PDF was an azureus.

I'm going to throw in a wild card and suggest two other genuses entirely. Phyllobates terribilis and bicolors are good beginner species. They are bold, brightly colored large frogs that can take larger prey items then the tincs or leucs.

Also Epipedobates. SI anthoyni are not as bold, but practically bullet-proof and will take larger prey as well.
