Default First Auratus Tad

I had a very exciting surprise this morning, I noticed the water moving in my non-moving water feature this morning while I was feeding my Auratus, I stopped and watched the water and I saw the tail of a half grown tadpole swimming around in the murkey water. This was a surprise to me because I haven't seen or heard any mating behavior from these 4 frogs before. I believe I have 2 males and one female and I am unsure of the other one. The female looks extremely fat, almost bloated looking, could this be because she has to lay some eggs again? I wish she would stay still long enough for me to take a picture of her. They are rather shy and don't stick around for long after I walk into the room or open their tank.
I took the tad out of the tank and put it in a deli cup and made sure it had some dead flies and springs to chew on, if I have springs and dead flies should I still feed it Tadbites?

Thanks, Curtis

Yes I would use the tadpole bites, indian almond leaves pieces, and spirulina algae.flies have almost no nutrients, springs are good but hard for a tad to eat as they never break the suface of the water

Hello, Thanks for the reply. I do not have any algae but I gave him some tadbites and the leaves. Are these just better for them? or how else do people leave them in the tank when they are not egg feeders?

Thanks, Curtis

wow that was a cool surprise!
and like mentioned before the tadpole bites are just much more convenient for you and the tadpole..and most have many nutritional values for your tads.
the leaves and spirulina add extra variety and nutrients as well.
good luck
