Default Hatched too early?

I have some azureus tads that are 11 days old that have wiggled free from their gel mass. Their tails have gone straight but they still have a fair amount of their egg sac left and they still have their external gill structure. Is this normal?

Sounds like a little early, but they should be fine. A couple weeks ago, I had a Regina tad hatch earlier than it's clutchmates that still had gills and a good amount of eggsack left. After I put them in water they are all growing the same and are the same size.

I assume that I should leave them in the Petrie dish for another day or two before I move them to their cups. Right?

How about just use a plastic spoon and save them the whiplash from the baster vortex?

Have you tried the spoon!? Nerve wrecking...

If you have water in the petri dish and you do it gently, no ill effects...done it over a thousand times.

One important husbandry tool.....

It's soooo flexible....makes transfering eggs and tads very easy....and fun

and....here's the best part.....wait for it...........they are free at most conveience stores....slurppee strawz.
