My Azureus seem to love Saturday

Last Saturday I got my first clutch from my Azureus. The eggs unfortunately all went bad, but I knew this would happen.

Well today I walked in the room and found them breeding up a storm, tonight I checked the petri dish and see their second clutch of eggs. This clutch will probably go bad as well from what I have heard, but I am so happy they have at least started breeding.

It looks like I have 3 females and 1 male. :O

I remember being young and dating on Saturday nites. Sounds like the good ol' days!
it took my Azureus over 13 clutches befor they got it right, so be patient.
not that it will be that long for yours, its just my experience.
Besides, we all like a little practice !

Oh wow.

In the first clutch were 3 eggs, this time around were 5. They all slowly turn whitish. Does this mean the male is not fertilizing yet or that they are just going bad?

probably the first.
I noticed that the succes rate went up after giving aphids / greenfly to the parents.

Thanks for the advice Ronm! I have been meaning to give aphids a try, with spring now coming there is no better time to start.

I love my Saturdays too, just glad my wife doesn't get pregnant every week!

LOL.... I would get my tubes tied if humans could give birth at the rate most animals do.

I have azureus too 2 males and 2 females. Mine like to lay eggs every week too, I've noticed that its usually on thursdays! probably 90% of the time. After they lay the eggs i usually leave them in there for 3 or 4 days then remove them and i've had pretty good luck with them hatching! but once they grow front legs it all goes down hill, most of them end up with SLS. I've been trying to fix this...
