Default Can eggs drown?

my bastis just layed 3 eggs, but in an unusual spot today. instead of an empty film canister, they laid them in one full of water, and the eggs are under about a quarter inch of water. are they ok there or should i drain the canister?

Default Re: Can eggs drown?

thats a tuffy. i know dart eggs can drown if fully submerged but i also never touch my eggs when they are developing. if they were in my tank i think i would suck out just enough for the jelly to break the water. maybe your frogs are expecting a drought ^_^
this may all be moot anyways, because its been my limited experiance that eggs laid under the water don't develope anyways.

hopefuly there is an experiance pum breeder out there who will give you more reliable advice.
