I have some Santa Isabella's and one of their eggs fell off the leaf where they were deposited into the leaf litter below and I can't seem to find it. Does it have any chance of survival?
The same thing has happened to my isabels. Most likely the egg will not survive but if the frogs can find it and you have your viv misting correctly so the egg doesn't dry out then he might still make it with a parent transporting him to the water source. I would not count on it however. during the landing it could have punctured the sack killing the egg.
Isabels are so prolific though that if you are getting eggs then it will be replaced this week if they are producing like mine do.
I have an oak leaf litter which I keep misted regularly. The egg was on a leaf of philodendron and it looks like it could have slid down the stalk and possibly just fallen below the first layer. I've heard of males being able to locate and transport a tadpoles, but as a novice haven't experienced it yet.
The male is calling as we speak and I'd assume I'll have a clutch off new eggs within the next 24 hours from the looks of the females. He is a loud-boy! Persistent to say the least. The last clutch only had one fertile egg /5-6, so I was bummed when it fell off, but I'm sure the next clutches will produce some fertile eggs.
most likely not! When there morphed give me a call!
