Lamasi calling

Posted 10-05-2008 at 07:38 PM by housevibe7

So I've been hearing a bunch of calling from the lamasi viv the last week or two. I think I might check today to see if there are any eggs. I just hate to disturb them because the darn things are so skittish. Ive seen all four out at a time so that's great, maybe they are finally becoming a bit more comfortable...

Need to make cultures today, oh joy....

off to china!

Posted 10-04-2008 at 08:18 AM by markbudde

OK, im going to china tomorrow, so I'll make one last post before i take off. My last egg was indeed fertile, with a developing tadpole, but when the parents discovered the tadpole in the brom, they quit tending to the egg and it molded over. The tadpole is in a brom which is too small for it and I'm afraid that the water will foul over before it morphs out. I'm surprised the parents started egg feeding after they found the tad, but today I saw a few eggs in the brom with it. We'll see if he is...

Two Weeks Open; Much More to Come!

Two weeks into it, and we closed our books for the month of September. We did pretty well for not getting our sign until the last week, and starting advertising about the same time.

BTW: we decided on the name Rainforest Station since we would be carrying more livestock than just the frogs we had on the expo circuit. We currently have veiled chameleons, bearded dragons, crested geckos and gargoyle geckos,...

Egg feeding?

Posted 09-30-2008 at 06:41 AM by markbudde

I fed my male some vitamin dusted flies today, which he seemed pretty happy to eat. I put them right in front of him so he'd get them while they're fresh. I also added a fresh batch of sluggo after finding a slug on my orchid. I haven't found any baby slugs since I started the sluggo, and i think it's more effective at killing small slugs, so I hope they are about dead.

My new mist king timer is really great, it gives way more flexibility in misting cycles than I previously had, and...

Here goes nothing

Posted 09-30-2008 at 12:34 AM by housevibe7

I have never ever done a blog before, so we'll take a stab at this...

So I have four tads right now that are in various stages of growth. Three retic and one imi. I am wondering where I am going to put them once they morph out.... Quickly running out of room, especially with the mint terribs coming in. Maybe its time to set up those other racks?

SO, then where to put the elliptical... funny that frogs come before exercise...
