Default Frog Specific Vivariums

I have read everything I can get my hands on in the last couple of weeks on the different types of frogs, thier habitats, etc. I have found a lot of really good information on the different species and thier care. My question for anyone out there is, from pratical experience, can you give some guidelines as to each species that you have personal experience with, thier vivarium type (biotype?), ect. Thank you.

That's a pretty broad question Can you narrow down what it is that you haven't been able to figure out through your research?

Sorry for that. A lot of what I have read sounds more like a ditto for several of the species, where a basic tank set up (moss, misting, plants to hide in, etc.) will work as well for D. azureus, as well for D. auratus, D. leucomelas, or D. tinctorius. Is this just the case and I am trying to read too much into this, or have you all found that, say D. azureus does better with running water, i.e. waterfall/stream, while D. leucomelas does better without.

Probably what you have read is pretty acurate although I wouldn't get lost in the details. Once you get in the weeds, you are going to find a pretty wide range of opinions. Generally it seems that temp, humidity, and places to hide are at the top of the list. Then depending on the species, you want to figure out how to go about building vertically. Finally, you want to give some consideration about where the eggs/tads are going to end up if you plan on breeding.

In general with the large frogs, more horizontal space, with lecus a little of both, and with small frogs more vertical space. I have tincs and they do a fair amount of climbing on things that can support their weight such as wood, etc. I built in layers using cork, ghost wood, and the substrate to make terraces where they can't see each other or where they can perch and survey their kingdom depending on their mood. They seem to dig it, and it allows the frogs to get away from each other and hunt alone if they want. The key I think is that they have gradual transitions from one level to the next. Not that they don't scale the "cliffs" periodically, but generally take the easy path.

Don't know if that is anywhere close to what you wanted to know
